Concrete Structural System Lab.
The Concrete Structural Systems Lab is designed to advance construction technology through research and development of structural systems. The lab conducts a range of research projects. Such topics as an earthquake-resistant design and seismic assessment of existing buildings are drawing keen attention in Korea. To keep abreast of this trend, the lab has developed an effective lateral resistance system, conducts seismic assessments and carries out research on the lateral resistance of flat-place structures and that factors that modify this response. From 2007, it has taken a leading role in the development of low-carbon concrete and has focused its energy on studying alkali-activated concrete and its applications. Along with such efforts, it has also conducted research on structural members.
