Student activities
There are several student clubs and unions within the School of Architecture. Students share their interest in various fields through club activities. Student clubs hold regular meetings, group study
sessions, seminars, exhibitions, etc.
U-Ram (Supervisor : Prof. Deuk-Yun Choen)
‘U-Ram’in Korean means‘to study the traditions of Korea.’Students study traditional Korean architecture and their esthetic values in U-Ram which has existed for about 30 years. It also focuses on famous architects from the modern and post-modern age and provides various field trip opportunities.
JJ (Supervisor : Prof. Se-Gyu Oh)
Just enJoy! This club studies architectural design. Students take part in various architectural contests and broaden their knowledge through various field trips to famous examples of architecture.
SPLASH (Supervisor : Prof. Hyo-Won Lee)
Pursues experimental architectural design. Students study the various theories on architecture and design and participate in field trips as well as contests at home and abroad.
BOX (Supervisor : Prof. Uoo-Sang Yoo)
BOX is a design club consisting of students who place a high value on thinking. It focuses more on content than appearance in architectural design and stresses the importance of thinking for an architect. Students read a wide range of texts regarding architect, art, sociology, philosophy and discuss such together. They also visit significant examples of architecture and exhibitions in order to appreciate the relationships between architecture, culture and society.
MOUSE (Supervisor : Prof. Seung-Hoon Han)
MOUSE is a digital design club that has existed for about 20 years. Students study three dimensional and atypical architectural designs, BIM, and ubiquitous architecture in this club. They participate in digital design competitions and contests and hold design workshops to enhance their capabilities.
D. O. S. (Supervisor : Prof. Jin-Gyu Song)
D.O.S. is the acronym for Design of Structure. It is a study group focusing on architectural structures. Students gather once a week to study the basic concepts of structure and gather in-depth knowledge on structures. Through HABITAT activities and several competitions, they enhance their capabilities.
Archi-tech (Supervisor : Prof. Sung-Seok Ko)
Students hold a seminar once a week with the focus placed on construction methods in this club. They study the theories pertaining to and the photos taken at construction fields. They also visit construction sites to obtain hands-on experience of the construction methods being applied there. Along with these, students undertake voluntary activities, including HABITAT and the delivery of coal briquettes during winter.
